[Expired] Warning: PhotoPlog and vB 4.0

Warning: PhotoPlog and vB 4.0 are not compatible. Tests will be done as soon as possible, around the time of the vB 4.0 Gold release, to see what needs to change to make PhotoPlog Pro compatible with vB 4.0 if possible. No time frame at this point for the Lite version.

If you upgrade to vB 4.0, you will break PhotoPlog, whether Lite or Pro, so if you are going to upgrade, turn off the gallery via the ACP -> PhotoPlog -> General Settings and do not turn it on again until after a vB 4.0 compatible version is released. Again no time frame for the Lite version, and for the Pro version, it will be as soon as it gets done.

Support for PhotoPlog on vB 4.0 will not be offered until after a vB 4.0 compatible version of PhotoPlog Pro is released. At that time, the Lite version will be examined to see whether it will be made to be compatible as well.

Please do not repeatedly ask whether it is done yet. What is planned is to get Pro done as soon as possible, and given that the templates need a redo, and code will likely need to be changed, this is not going to be a half day job.

It is good news, that there will be a vB4 version of PP.

It would be very helpfull if you could give us a roadmap - when PP for vb4 will be released aproximately. Many of us will update to vb4 and many of us will probably do some kind of roadmap for their boards.

What I have read is that vB4 will be out in December 09 - what do you think when will PP4 be finished?

Did you happen to get a Beta-version (should be available for all coders)?

hmm..

Today I recieved this email:

Quote:

Your access to the paid subscription "PhotoPlog Pro" is about to expire.

If you have selected a recurring subscription you will be automatically billed for the renewal, else to renew this subscription you must visit http://www.photoplog.com/forum/payments.php

If you do not extend your subscription, access will be removed.

All the best,
PhotoPlog
may I ask again..is there a timeline when PP pro for vb4 will be finished aproximately? I think it would be fair to know this before renewing my subscription...

The pro templates need to be redone, and code will need to be changed, but there is no timeline for how long it will take. If this makes you feel uncertain about renewing, then just wait until the vB4 version of PhotoPlog gets done.

Hi Morgan.

It would be very helpfull to have a timeline - most of the vb Users are in trouble, don't know which add ons will be converted, which won't, don't if they should stick to vb 3.8 or upgrade.

I don't want an exact date, I just want some kind of hint - e.g. "is a matter of days or weeks", "won't come out til summer 2010" ore something similar.

As Photoplog is a paid add on this would be fair.

A little update: Beta 3 is released to customers who have allready bought a vB4 license.
That would make it possible to start testing and upgrading PhotoPlog I hope.

And I assume that Morgan needs to have a good look at vB4 before he can tell anything about how much time it will take to make PhotoPlog compatible.

Yes, I have the VB beta 4 up also, and already miss my PhotoPlog gallery. I'll definitely renew my subscription if and when you decide to support it.

now that vb4 RC2 is provided and the Gold version is coming very soon - is there any news about photoplog and vb4?
